It was released on March 16, 2010 in North America and will be released soon after in other territories.. It is the fifth and final chapter in the current story arc, chronologically after God of War: Chains of Olympus, God of War, God of War: Betrayal, and God of War II. God of War III, however, will not be the last God of War game of the series. The Ultimate Edition was announced on October 30, 2009 for the North American release, and included exclusive content.
