People behind the Prince of Persia series have spread some light on the upcoming part Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. I (K-Karan) have added some of my experience and thoughts about it. Here it goes.

Prince Of Persia- The Forgotten Sands First Look Developer Diary

Prince Of Persia- The Forgotten Sands First Look Gameplay

[Michael McLntyre (Level Design Director)] Prince of Persia the forgotten sands is a chunk of the prince’s life, where we don’t know what happened to him,

[Jean - Christophe Guyot (Creative Director)] In between Prince of Persia and warrior within there is a gap of 7 years, so we are using the space to introduce as he was from the sands of time,

K – I always use to think that how the prince became so deadly and dangerous in the warrior within, after the sands of time. Well; now I’ll get the answer.  7 years are hell of a long time.

Chunk Gap and Space

Chunk Gap and Space

[David Deschenes(Level Design Manager)] we are going back to roots, we are going back in to the sands of time feel, so mix of charm with adventure,

K- From the action shown in this first look game-play video, it feels awesome. Action moves are totally new with great sound that gives the satisfying feeling.

Back To The Roots

Back To The Roots

[Jean - Christophe Guyot (Creative Director)] This little twist is little element of magic but that is so characteristic of Arabian nights, the prince of Persia universe has very destined flavor,

K- I loved the look personally; it would be very romantic if Farah would be here with prince.

Magical Moments

Magical Moments

[Ceri Young(Scriptwriter)] The game kind of follows the prince on an adventure in his brother’s place, he arrives to find it under attack,

K- And he’s damn ready to kick the ass of the attacking enemies. Again loved the action.

Under Attack

Under Attack

[Graeme Jennings (Producer)] Malik is the prince’s older brother, he is doing what he can for his people, but he makes the wrong choice, which releases the sands army,

K- Wrong Choice huh !!! Anyone’s mind can get upset in that freaking situation. These sand monsters looks tough, comparatively the empty skeletons that were shown in the sands of time. Obviously because of the lack of technology on previous real times.

Wrong Choice

Wrong Choice

[David Deschenes (Level Design Director)] It saves it s kingdom from the invading army but the prince’s will have a little bit of experience with magical things, knows these things comes out of little bit of cost, this army has a definite cost,

K- This cost would bring so much fun while getting itself killed.

The Definite Cost

The Definite Cost

[David Deschenes (Level Design Director)] We wanna make sure to respect the essence of the game,

[Thomas Simon 9Lead Game Designer)] the first time I played sands of time, it was like, the elasticity of the move were incredible, I think it’s the prince’s acrobatic approach that makes him stand out,

K- Acrobatic moves of Prince of Persia series are one of the precious assets of game. It should be preserved and improved with each new part of the series.

The Essence

The Essence

[Graeme Jennings (Producer)] the wall run from , you will never get tired of it, the epic move that people know from the original trilogy,

[Jean - Christophe Guyot (Creative Director)] we are bringing back that run on the wall, column jump, acrobatic poll jumps,  it’s the move set from the sands of time prince, the control scheme that he has as a read as same before,

K- It’s my favorite move and another precious asset of Prince of Persia series. Without this move any Prince of Persia Game would feel incomplete.

Epic Wall Run

Epic Wall Run

[Michael McLntyre (Level Design Director)] Its going to feel right to people, the way the rewind look, it’s the same ability as the people are familiar, we use the anvil engine to build forgotten sands, it was the engine that was build internally at  UBISOFT Montreal originally for assassins creed, Alas it’s the really powerfully built environment,

K- Looks good, rewind look is better this way only.

Acrobatics, Anvil and Rewind

Acrobatics, Anvil and Rewind

[Jean - Christophe Guyot (Creative Director)] It can have up to 50 enemies on the screen at once, this makes for the huge battles,

K- This looks great; fighting with bunch of more enemies would be a super cool thing.

50 Enemies

50 Enemies

[Michael McLntyre (Level Design Director)] For massive battle scenes that happens that may have been implied in the sands of time, but we can show it,

Massive Battles

Massive Battles

[Jean - Christophe Guyot (Creative Director)] the architecture in itself is very detailed and very fine,

[Ceri Young (Scriptwriter)] we are really going into that Arabian nights, Persian feel, there is a lot of emphasis on the beauty of the surroundings in the game,

[Michael McLntyre (Level Design Director)] The rooms are big, we want to players, to wonder explore everything of the environment,

[Jean - Christophe Guyot (Creative Director)] every aspect of the game is very hand crafted, does details everywhere,

K- This architecture look reminds me of warrior within gears; it would be good to feel that in a different and more big way.

The Architecture

The Architecture

[Graeme Jennings (Producer)] we want it to invent on top of that and bring a new flavor,

[Thomas Simon 9Lead Game Designer)] There is four of all the elements, fire, earth, air, water,

[Ceri Young (Scriptwriter)] I love the water freeze power, that’s the thing I can’t stop watching people playing, the game when they are doing that, than the jumps back the fourth the fact that you have to use timing to can stop and start,

K- Water Freeze power looks great and one of the best things that has been added in Prince of Persia series. Nature elements always work better.

Water Freeze

Water Freeze

[Michael McLntyre (Level Design Director)] Players are gonna in feeling charged up eager to see where this road is going to take them, we have the cool base in the acrobatics, on top of that, we have added the power of the nature, the manipulation of the environments, the 50 enemy battles, the epic boss battles, there is so much in this to bring you back in,

[Graeme Jennings (Producer)] this is the game that you should play if you liked the original series.

K- It definitely a must play. I will grab it.
