Netflix does not have any plans to stop after a few anime series. Like two hours ago Netflix announced that new Ghost in The Shell anime will be arriving on the platform.
Project’s name is Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 and will hit the streaming platform in 2020.
The series will be directed by Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Araki. Previously Kamiyama has directed Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex while Araki directed Appleseed.
This title will be the result of the collaboration of two studios SOLA Digital Arts and Production I.G.
For people who are not familiar with the anime world. When they hear the title Ghost in the Shell, Scarlett Johansson’s movie of the same name comes in mind. In which she played a cyborg named Major Motoko Kusanagi and the film was released in 2017.
Let me tell you guys something about this anime. This franchise has made several incarnations previously and proved to be a durable franchise. Originally it was a Japanese manga telling a fictional counter-cyberterrorist organization in the mid-21st century.
After that, this concept has moved to several successful anime adaptions including but not limited to a film and a television series.
Here’s the announcement tweet by Netflix.
